DESCRIPTION

Stone-age Citizens are a duo which developed from a music sharing project between two friends in 2010. Initially their sound was based on indie electro and disco, however their sound has developed over the past 4 years. Driving this development was hosting one of Cape Town’s favourite student nights ‘See You Next Wednesday’ at The Assembly. 2013 saw the end of their residency at Assembly, this allowed the boys to adopt a quality over quantity approach to their gig selection. This approach was a catalyst for them to re-build and refine their sound. Their sound now follows the line of disco and house with influences from techno, garage, downtempo and indie rock. These influences are clear in their sets as they aim to keep a balance between approachable and intricacy.

Since leaving their residency Stone-age Citizens have enjoyed sets at Rocking The Daisies, Synergy and Billy’s Beach where they are often booked as the prelude to the events main acts. This has become a position that they have made their own, warming-up dancefloors with a contagious mix of disco and house. Whilst their sets may not always have the depth of some of their counterparts, they make up with an honest performance which maintains an enjoyable mix of professionalism and energy.

Stone-age Citizens are continually working on their performance and are always looking for new influences whether it be from their local colleagues, international acts or festival crowds.
