Tommy Gun grew his infatuation with music by spending hours on end with his dad’s record collection. This would eventually create a platform for his cutting-edge selections of Indie, Nu-Disco and Electro. Fully loaded with joy, energy and expression, Tommy Gun’s distinctive sound has been the key to his growing achievements as a DJ.

In 2006 he happened upon the pioneering Untamed Youth night at Fiction, and was later never to be the same. Shaken by the night’s signature blend of Indie Rock ‘n Roll and Electronic music, it wasn’t long until he approached founder and inspiration-in-chief Dario Leite for a set of his own. He leapt at the opportunity and in ’09 would go on to take over the reins as resident DJ and promoter. With invaluable help from his good friends Haasbroek, Mudblud, as well as the scene at large, Tommy Gun has grown Untamed Youth into the powerful national brand it is today, running weekly in Cape Town and monthly at Great Dane in Johannesburg.

Inspired to reach out to new and diverse audiences, his career takes him on regular trips across the country. Notably, he has graced the stages of Oppikoppi, Rocking The Daisies, Splashy Fen, AfrikaBurn, Earthdance, Synergy Live, RAMfest and the Cape Town Electronic Music Festival (CTEMF), has featured prominently on 5FM and has played alongside major international artists Deadmau5 (CAN), Two Door Cinema Club (NIR), The Drums (USA), Datarock (NOR), Richie Hawtin (USA), Pendulum (AUS), Jerry Bouthier (FRA), The 2 Bears (UK) and Zombie Nation (GER).
